CrossFit Games 2021 is nearing and many participants are excited. Other than the traditional CrossFit Games, events for women will be held. The women's competition, Pegboard contests, Cutting system and Reebok equipment are all well-known. But, do you really know what to expect? Keep reading to find the answer! Women's competition

The women's competition at the 2021 Crossfit Games began this morning with the swim event. Jonne Koski, Tia-Clair Toomey Orr, and TiaClair Toomey Orr were the winners in the first event. After maintaining her lead throughout competition, Koski was declared the overall winner. Tall and Eramoo O'Connell came in second and third, respectively. It was the first Games event by women. The women's side wanted to complete the podium.

The field is full of top-level athletes in the women's competition. The field features nine athletes, including a 19 year-old Australian powerhouse who won this competition last year. Kara Saunders from Australia, who placed second in Australia and 11th globally in 2020 are other contenders. Andrea Nisler is another rising star. She competed in the team category in 2018 and placed third in the United States, and 15th overall in 2020. Aside from these athletes, the Women’s competition will also include a newcomer, Sara Sigmundsdottir, an Icelandan competitor, who won first place at the World Crossfit Games earlier.

Pegboard contest

Pegboard contest at Crossfit Games 2121 was a new concept. It was added to Crossfit Games' summer Olympic program alongside double-unders & dumbbell overhead Squats. With 30 wins, Toomey-Orr holds the record for the most Games events won. Sager won Event 11 for the men and took home his third Games victory. There were several tie in the contest but Toomey Orr's dominance was too strong to stop him winning.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. Pegboard is a contest that tests competitor's grip strength as well as coordination. Two wooden pegs are held between the hands of each competitor to gauge their grip strength. Cutting system

CrossFit Games uses a cutting system to judge individual competition. It's not as extreme as the cuts used in past Games, but still very different than this year. There are 15 events in the competition, so it is possible that 30 athletes will be cut after the eighth or seventh event. CrossFit must also answer the question of how it will adjust the points following cuts. The scoring table used to determine the winners in the 2019 games was very similar to the one used to determine the losers in 2021. This is why it's most likely that the current system will be used.

This year's CrossFit Games team includes 236 competitors, making it the largest ever. Major cuts are made at the six initial events. The field is reduced to 75 athletes. The top 30 then compete in a sprint couplet to determine the top ten. From there, the top twenty athletes compete in the six remaining events. Castro's system was criticised by veteran Games participants, who felt that the cuts were too significant.

Reebok equipment

Reebok announces new CrossFit Games clothing, shoes and other equipment. The Nano X1 is the new shoe. They're made to fit multiple fitness needs. Reebok describes this shoe as the "shoe of fitness", but it actually feels more like an ordinary training shoe.
